From the Chair
I hope this newsletter finds you all doing well.
May 12 is our next Board meeting. This is the last Board meeting before the end of terms for all four of our Officers. While I will remain for one more year, as Immediate Past Chair, nominations are open for the remaining Officer positions – Chair, Chair-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer. The Chair and Chair-Elect positions, according to our bylaws, must be filled by a current Board member, but the other positions are open to all. Should an existing Board member move into an Officer’s position, that vacant Board seat will need to be filled. If you’re interested in a Board position, please let us know by emailing us. If you’d like to nominate a Global Alliance member, please let us know.
We need your involvement! These vacant positions need to be filled by members who are committed to keeping us moving forward, particularly continuing the work to create an assessment and certification program. If you are currently a Board member, please consider moving up into an Officer’s position. If you’re not on our Board, use the nomination form and get involved. We need you!
What a difference a year makes! This time last year, we were just beginning our new normal as COVID took control of our daily lives. Beginning in April, and for two months, the Global Alliance partnered with the Clear2Connect Coalition to host a series of Virtual Social Gatherings which allowed our members and nonmembers to gather in a safe and welcoming environment and share how to cope and thrive as the rules kept changing. Today we have vaccines available for all, and there is a good chance we will all return very soon to something resembling our old lives. Please continue to stay safe and stay healthy!
